FAR NORTH RSA BOWLING CLUB NEWS REPORT
A full muster of 48 bowlers (16 teams of any combination triples) included bowlers from Coopers Beach, Houhora and Oruru clubs, as well as members of the host club Kaitaia RSA Bowling Club, took part in the inaugural Fulton Hogan Triples on Saturday 24 February. Four games of 1 hour 15 min each were played in ideal weather conditions with the following results:
The winners were Dave Roughton, Pam Roughton and Len Cooke (Coopers Beach) with 4 wins, 23 ends and 30 points, followed closely for second by Al Thom, Jill Phillips and Paul Burren (RSA) 4 wins, 22 ends and 50 points. Third were Jean Huxtable, Russell Hockley and Violet Kara (RSA), 3 wins plus a draw, 23 ends and 51 points.
The lucky draw of chocolates went to the team of Tessa Pont, Sean Ledingham and Haami Kunaiti. (Church Road)
President Ian Macnee after presenting the prizes thanked the sponsors, participating bowlers, plus Greenkeeper Kevin, Karena (kitchen), Kath, raffles and timekeeper, and Pat and Adele (conveners)
